Our Lulu occasional table collection is a fusion of Swiss and Moroccan craftsmanship, embodying a meeting of two worlds, two skills, which together give rise to a piece of furniture like no other. It’s not just a table; it’s a work of art, a sculpture that plays with materials, shapes and light.
The choice of Moroccan zellige for the top is not insignificant. It’s one of our favorite materials in Moroccan craftsmanship. Its ability to capture light and color is incomparable. Here, it is reinterpreted in a monochrome white version. This bold approach highlights the purity and simplicity of the design, while offering a dynamic surface that interacts with its luminous surroundings. The subtle nuances and variations inherent in zellige give each Lulu table a unique character, an imprint that is both personal and universal.
The table’s legs, manufactured by Atelier La Grange in Switzerland, demonstrate exceptional mastery of metalwork. Based in Yverdon-les-Bains, this workshop is renowned for its excellence in metallurgy. The steel, chosen for its strength and finesse, offers a striking contrast with the zellige top, creating a dialogue between strength and delicacy.
The Lulu table, in its abstraction and monochromaticity, invites reflection on space and light. The shadows cast by and on the table are not mere visual effects; they are an extension of the table itself, modulating the space around it and inviting silent contemplation.
The Lulu table is more than a piece of furniture. It’s a celebration of craftsmanship, an ode to the beauty of materials and an affirmation of the power of design. It represents a bridge between past and present, between art and craft, between Switzerland and Morocco, testifying to the richness that emerges when different worlds meet and mingle.
